Managing User Sessions

You can monitor and manage the following currently active user sessions from the control panel: control panel sessions, FTP sessions and terminal server sessions. To access the user sessions management functions, select the Sessions shortcut in the navigation pane.

Managing Control Panel Sessions

The first type of user sessions available for managing from the control panel is control panel sessions. The list of currently active control panel sessions is displayed on the first tab opening after clicking the Sessions shortcut in the navigation pane:

The icon in the T (Type) column identifies a control panel user who established the session. The Login column displays the user's system login, IP address indicates the ip the control panel is accessed from, the Logon time and Idle time columns display the date and time the session was initiated, and the session idle time respectively.

Click Refresh to refresh the list of user sessions.

To end a user session, select the corresponding checkbox and click Remove Selected.

Managing FTP Sessions

To perform the management operations on the current FTP sessions with the server, switch to the FTP Sessions tab:

On this page you can view the list of current FTP sessions, and end them.

The properties of FTP sessions are presented in the Sessions table:

  • T (Type): the type of user who established the session - for users not registered in the control panel, - for anonymous FTP users, - for Domain owner's sessions, - for subdomain user's sessions, and - for web user's sessions.

  • S (Status): the current status of FTP connection. Indicates the last command recieved by server during the session.

  • Login: the user's FTP login,

  • Domain name: the domain the FTP user is currently connected to,

  • Current location: the directory the FTP user is currently at,

  • File name: the file name being operated on,

  • Speed: file transfer speed in Kilobytes per second,

  • Progress: the file transfer operation progress in percentage,

  • IP address: the IP address the FTP account is accessed from,

  • Logon time: user logon time,

  • Idle time: session idle time.

To refresh the list of FTP sessions, click Refresh.

To end a session, select the corresponding checkbox and click Remove Selected.

Managing Terminal Server Sessions

To manage the terminal server sessions, switch to the TS Sessions tab on the Sessions management page:

On this page you can view the properties of current terminal server sessions, and log them off or disconnect.

The list displayed on the TS Sessions page provides the following information:

  1. The icon in the S (Status) column identifies the current state of the session. There can be four types of states:

    • Listen - the server awaits for the client to connect.

    • Active - client is connected and logged in (entered the valid login and password)

    • Connected - client is connected but not logged in

    • Disconnected - client is currently disconnected

  2. Name: the connection's name

  3. User: the exact user name used for the session performing

For viewing a certain session details, click its name in the list.

To refresh the list of TS sessions, click Refresh.

To terminate one or several terminal server sessions, select the corresponding checkboxes and click the Log Off.

To disconnect one or several terminal server sessions, check the corresponding checkboxes and click Disconnect.
