Cheap unlimited web hosting is really the very least you should be able to expect from a web host. Five, ten years ago, space was expensive, bandwidth was expensive. Today, there is absolutely no excuse for a web host not to give you unlimited web hosting. If they do not offer unlimited hosting, then it probably comes down to one of the following reasons.

1.     They Want You To Upgrade

Sort of like when some knucklehead at a record company decides to release a CD, and then “bonus tracks” on the web for a dollar each, instead of including them on the disc. It comes down to just getting a little extra money out of the customer. It is not really fair and it does not even usually work out in the seller’s favor, but nevertheless, some people try to get away with a business model where they put an artificial cap on your hosting space just to get you to pay more for unlimited space.

2.     They Really Are Unreliable

If they really do not have the web space to share with their paying customers, then they really should not be considered reliable in the first place. If they do not have more than enough space to host your site and thousands of others, then you need to look elsewhere because you cannot count on them.

If it’s free, then they are probably just offering smaller packages as a way to entice customers and let them try before they buy. This is fine, this is a justifiable business model. When you pay for limited hosting, though, then you are really just getting taken advantage of by a web host that values your money more than your business. Give them neither.
